We know December is a busy month for everyone, with Christmas shopping, Christmas parties, and Christmas concerts to attend. Finding time this month for family activities could be a bit more challenging, but we’ve compiled a list of a few things you may want to try to squeeze into your already hectic schedules!
1) The 33rd Annual Rotary Festival of Christmas Carols @ St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Stony Plain: December 6th from 7:00PM – 9:00PM
Christmas isn’t Christmas without caroling! Join the Stony Plain Rotary Club in hosting their 33rd Annual Festival of Christmas Carols. This long-standing tradition has attendees reminiscing childhood memories as Carolers perform those Christmas family favorites. There is no cost to attendees; however, you are encouraged to bring a food donation or monetary donation. Sweets and treats to follow after the performance!
2) Photos with Santa with your Pets & Famiy @ PetSmart: December 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd
We love our yearly photos with Santa and this year, PetSmart is offering FREE photos with Santa for the whole family – fur babies included! Make sure to download the PetSmart app beforehand because once you get your picture taken, you can play around with some neat backgrounds on the app.
3) Holiday Princess Party @ Boston Pizza: December 15th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM
Boston Pizza prides itself on being a family-friendly restaurant, and this year they’ve really stepped up with adding the Holiday Princess Party event. Join Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel for a pizza feast, story time, photo opportunities and so much more right here in Spruce Grove! Kiddos are encouraged to dress as their favorite Disney princess or Disney prince. Tickets are $35.00 and can be purchased through Eventbrite by following this link.
4) Spruce Grove Saints Hockey Game: Various dates in December
Hockey season is officially upon us. What better way to enjoy the holidays than taking in some awesome hockey? The Spruce Grove Saints always put on a great show and rarely disappoint. If you head to the game on December 7th, you can even grab your very own 2019 Spruce Grove Saints Christmas ornament! Grab your tickets by following this link.
5) Carols and Bells Handbell Concert @ St. Andrew’s United Church: December 15th from 2:30PM and 7:00PM
The Carols and Bells Handbell Concert is giving us all the holiday “feels”. Two of St. Andrew’s United Church’s handbell choirs will share their wonderful talent with concertgoers who will be able to sit and enjoy their Christmas repertoire. What’s better? It’s local! Even if those roads are treacherous, there’s no need to venture far because the concert is in Spruce Grove. It’s a free offering with proceeds going directly to the Coordinated Suicide Prevention Program.
With so many Christmas events happening in the Tri-Area this year, this is one of the many reasons we love living in Spruce Grove!
From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
